電撃文庫MOVIE FESTIVAL – Special Opening Anime (2007)

Just a small post and video upload on my youtube channel for this one which is the special opening short anime played way back in 2007 at Dengeki Bunko’s Movie Festival.

As a sort of bonus effort on the video upload (lol), I’ve added English subtitles for the non-Japanese speakers that can be viewed by turning on the captions on youtube’s video settings. There are some weird rendering errors on some of the line placements that occurs early in the video, which I don’t know how it happened, but it’s not much of a problem as they’re still visible and I’m too lazy to go back and fix it.

Anyway, this short anime was more of a bonus feature for the audiences who attended Dengeki Bunko’s movie festival back in April 2007 and served as the opening piece before the movies of Shakugan no Shana, Inukami! and Kino’s Journey would play. It’s just a parody/crossover of characters from the three featured movies where they all try to make their way to the movie festival and lots of mayhem and mischief occurs.

This short wasn’t released on DVD until the 5th of October 2008 where it was sold exclusively at Dengeki’s 15th anniversary event for 500 yen, and then later available a year after on Amazon Japan (26th October 2009). I got my copy off Yahoo Japan Auctions way back in 2008. For a short piece anime, I’m kinda surprised they put in an extra 5.1 channel audio track (actually 6.1 from the DVD menu) when they could’ve just left it at 2.0 stereo channel, but it’s still nice and I can kinda see why when you see what happens towards the end lol.

I was debating on whether or not to upload this special short since it was already available for streaming on youtube from another user, but since it had no English subtitles and the video quality was rather low, I chose to go ahead and upload my version with English translations. Hope you enjoyed watching it at least if you’re familiar with one of the series featured in the video.
